Ingredients for Herring

Step 1: prepare the herring.

We take fresh or frozen herring, put it on a cutting board, cut off the head of each fish, and in turn gutted the carcasses from the insides, washed them under cold running water and dried with paper kitchen towels. Then we chop the herring on the fillet, and we, in turn, cut it into thin strips or small slices and leave it on the board.

Step 2: prepare onions and carrots.

Next, peel the onions and carrots, rinse them under cold running water and dry with paper towels. After this, we grate the carrots on a medium or fine grater, and cut the onion into rings or half rings up to 5 millimeters thick. Leave the slices on the board and proceed to the next step.

Step 3: prepare the marinade.

Pour the right amount of tableware 9% vinegar and vegetable oil into a deep bowl. We put sugar, salt, ketchup, ground leaf of laurel, and also two types of pepper: black and red. Mix these ingredients with a tablespoon to a uniform consistency - the marinade is ready!

Step 4: bring the dish to full readiness.

Now put in a sterilized liter jar layers of carrots, fish and onions, until the products run out. Next, fill them with the previously prepared marinade, close the jar with a tight-fitting plastic lid and put it in the refrigerator at least 6 hours, maximum at 12. After the required time has passed, put the hey from herring on a dish or in a salad bowl and serve.

Recipe Tips:

- instead of a liter can, you can use any other clean dishes;
