Channing Tatum Just Chopped Off and Ate a Rattlesnake’s Head

Channing Tatum has taken his “boy gone wild” persona in Magic Mike, and transformed it into a “boy in the wild” one on nature survivalist Bear Grylls’ new NBC reality show, Running Wild with Bear Grylls,”which puts celebrities like Channing Tatum and Zac Efron in wild survival situations. In this particular episode, hunky new dad Channing Tatum had to chop off the head of a rattlesnake that he came upon in the woods, before he and Grylls cooked it up for dinner. As a prize for facing down the poisonous creature, Bear Grylls made Tatum a necklace out of the snake’s rattle.

“There you go, my first kill,” said Channing on the episode. “I’m feeling pretty animalistic at the moment. I think we’re gonna eat good tonight.”

Luckily, according to Bear Grylls, the snake was fairly large, so it was enough sustenance to last them throughout their trek near Yosemite National Park.

It’s a bit of a cliché to compare the taste of exotic meats to chicken, but Tatum admitted that if rattlesnake were a piece of chicken, it “would be completely terrible chicken.”

Stephen Fry

English comedian, actor and writer Stephen Fry got well and truly out of his comfort zone when he joined Grylls for an extreme expedition through the treacherous Italian Dolomites.

Before the pair's trip, Grylls explained he wanted to take Fry somewhere that "gives him space to be himself".

"Where he doesn't have to be brainy and he doesn't have to be brilliant."

During their rugged adventure, Fry travelled on the skids of a helicopter, climbed down a 150-metre waterfall, slept in a World War I trench and abseiled down a cliff face.

The pair also got caught in a snowstorm, carved out the heart and tongue of a deer carcass for lunch, started a fire with a tampon and enjoyed a "mountain sandwich" — bread, chocolate spread and ants.

5 Celebrities Who Had Horrible Things Happen to Their Penis

Last week at SXSW, Jimmy Kimmel revealed more than we probably needed to know about his penis. Several years ago, he explained, his urethra &ldquokind of closed up on its own. I don&rsquot know why it happened. I still don&rsquot know why.&rdquo

The condition required surgery, which wasn&rsquot a complete success. &ldquoThey said, &lsquoYeah, we didn&rsquot really get it. It didn&rsquot quite work. We have to do it again.&rsquo And they did it again,&rdquo Kimmel said.

We can&rsquot speculate on what happened to Kimmel&rsquos penis and why it involved two surgeries&mdashonly his doctors can accurately explain that&mdashbut we do know that reading about Kimmel&rsquos experience did make us want to visit a urologist. You know, just to get the pipes checked out. You can never be too cautious.

(A lot can go wrong with a guy&rsquos favorite appendage. Check out the 10 Worst Things That Could Happen to Your Penis.)

Kimmel isn&rsquot the only male celebrity who&rsquos had terrible things happen to his schlong. Here are 6 stories guaranteed to make you count your blessings.

Channing Tatum

While filming The Eagle of the Ninth in the freezing Scottish Highlands, the actors kept warm &ldquoby pouring a mix of boiling water and river water&rdquo down their pants, Tatum told Details magazine. After one especially chilly day, a crew member asked Tatum if he wanted a warm-up, and he reluctantly said yes.

&ldquoThing is, he&rsquod forgotten to dilute the kettle water,&rdquo Tatum said. &ldquoSo he poured scalding water down my suit.&rdquo

It felt as bad as it sounds&mdashhe called it &ldquothe most painful thing I have ever experienced in my life.&rdquo He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he learned that he&rsquod essentially "burned the skin off the head of my dick.&rdquo

Tatum claims he&rsquos fully recovered, and his penis &ldquois fantastic.&rdquo We're just gonna go ahead and take your word on that, Magic Mike.

Johnny Knoxville

During an overly candid interview on VH-1, Johnny Knoxville went into gruesome detail about his member. Apparently, while trying to flip a motorcycle in 2007, he broke his penis. Broke it.

Following the accident, he had to use a catheter twice a day to keep scar tissue from forming. But even with those precautions, his injuries permanently disfigured his penis. &ldquoIt&rsquos just like a dog&rsquos chew-toy down there,&rdquo he explained.

So, if you didn&rsquot take the Jackass disclaimer &ldquoDon&rsquot try this at home&rdquo seriously before, maybe now you will.

Hugh Jackman

Hugh Jackman has had two embarrassingly public penis injuries. One was when he was hit in the groin during a celebrity cricket match, which was probably the most exciting thing to ever happen during a cricket game.

The other penis accident was even more frightening: During a nude scene for X-Men Origins: Wolverine, the director had every woman on set surprise Jackman when he ran around a corner. Jackman instinctively tried to cover up, forgetting that he was wearing Wolverine&rsquos 10-inch-claws, cutting himself in the process.

He only slashed his inner thigh, but it was enough to scare Jackman. &ldquoThe metal claws had to go,&rdquo he told U.K. talk show host Graham Norton. &ldquoYou can't have bits and pieces flying off.&rdquo

Which makes us wonder about other mutant-related penis hazards&mdashlike, does Iceman suffer from shrinkage?

MMA Fighter Ray Elbe came out with a YouTube video describing his utterly horrific penis injury. During sex, he said, his girlfriend &ldquobounced&rdquo a bit too high, landing down hard on him and, in his words, &ldquofracturing my penis bone.&rdquo

(He was probably trying one of these 4 Dangerous Sex Positions.)

Ten stitches were necessary to repair the damage. He went on YouTube to recount the story, purportedly to help other &ldquopeople suffering from this medical emergency (who do) not immediately seek medical attention.&rdquo

Are there actually people who don't immediately go to the ER when blood is gushing out of their boners? Geesh, you MMA fans are hardcore.

Andre &ldquoChrist Bearer&rdquo Johnson

Last year, rapper and occasional Wu-Tang Clan member Andre Johnson was enjoying a lazy afternoon in North Hollywood, reading about monks and vasectomies while high on PCP, when he decided that cutting off his own penis with a knife sounded by a dandy idea.

So he did it, and then leapt out a second story window. Because. whatever, does it matter at that point? He cut off his own penis.

Despite reports to the contrary, Johnson claims that he still has a little bit of penis left. &ldquoThe sensation is still there,&rdquo he told the New York Daily News. &ldquoI definitely still get extremely aroused if I see a beautiful woman.&rdquo

But, penetration isn&rsquot something he expects to participate in any time soon. &ldquoI believe sex is for mortals,&rdquo he said. &ldquoAnd I am god. So this is a blessing, not a curse.&rdquo

That&rsquos a glass-half-full kinda attitude. But if he&rsquos ever interested in getting a replacement, Lab-Grown Penises Aren&rsquot Science Fiction Anymore.

Running Wild With Bear Grylls: Two Days With Channing Tatum [Recap/Review]

Channing Tatum is the celebrity on this week’s Running Wild With Bear Grylls who adventurer and survivalist, Bear Grylls, will take out into the wilds for an adventure of a lifetime. Bear Grylls and Channing Tatum will be spending 48 hours together, hiking, climbing cliffs, rappelling and living off of the land. They will be in some of America’s most rugged terrain in California’s Yosemite National Park.

Running Wild With Bear Grylls began with Bear talking about Tatum and how his movies, like Magic Mike and 22 Jump Street, have grossed over $2.5 billion dollars. He says that Channing grew up in the Deep South and is a country boy at heart. Bear wrote him some survival tips in a letter that he said “Your life may depend on.” Channing, reading aloud, said “I’m screwed.’

Bear Grylls came to where Channing was, brought there by a helicopter. Tatum was ready to go, with his backpack, and they both got aboard the helicopter. Hovering above a lake, Bear dropped the backpacks into the water. Then, Tatum and Bear both did back-flips into the water.

“I’ve never done it from a helicopter, with blades of death above,” Channing said. “That was epic. That was worth the price of admission.”

They stripped down. Tatum was wearing American flag underwear. Bear asks him how he got his start, and Tatum tells him “stripping.”

They have to travel through a dense pine forest on a 14-miles journey to their extraction point.

“So, tell me about your dad?” Bear asked.

Tatum tells Bear that his dad used to chase him around with snakes, and even put snakes in his mom’s laundry basket.

There are pine trees all about, with resinous pitch in them. Bear lights some he scrapes off to start a fire. They find a scorpion that Bear says is very poisonous. Bear bites off the stinger and gives Tatum some of the creature to share. “It’s crunchy,” Tatum says.

They then encounter a rattlesnake. Bear asks him if he has ever eaten snake before. Channing says “No.” The rattlesnake can strike over a distance of more than its body length. Bear reassures Channing that “I have a plan.” Then, Running Wild With Bear Grylls went to a commercial break.

Bear pins the head of the rattlesnake down using a forked branch. He asks Tatum to “Go ahead kill it!” Tatum uses his knife and cuts the snake’s head off.

“So — that happened. It was pretty intense,” Channing says.

Bear shows Tatum how to gut it. Then, he says “We’re going to cut it into onion rings — snake rings,” Grylls said.

Bear points to a steep stony mountain in the distance and says “That’s where we’re going to go.”

Bear asks him if he had to be ambitious in the movie world.

“I think I’m playing the highest stakes make-believe game int he world. When you get to the top of one place, you look past, and there’s always a mountain range beyond that,” Tatum answers Bear.

Bear said to the camera that “For me, he’s a total pleasure, this one.”

They come to an almost sheer cliff. Bear asks Tatum “Have you ever had any climbing experience?”

“Not with something like that, I haven’t,” Tatum answers him.

Bear said “We’re all kind of like grapes. We never know what we’re made of until we’re squeezed.” After more commercials, Bear will instruct Channing Tatum in how to scale the cliff side and find out what Tatum is made of.

“It’s terrifying,” Taum said after the break. “We don’t have anything like this back home.”

“Focus — you’re finishing strong,” Bear said.

“If you start slipping, there’s nothing to stop you from falling to your death,” Tatum said.

“Do you want to lead us to the summit? Take your time,” Grylls said.

Tatum does so, and at the top he says “That was by far the most insane thing I’ve done in my lifetiem.”

“We’re burning up energy. It’s 9,000 feet. Now, it’s time to eat,” Bear said. Grylls shows Tatum how to start a fire going.

“I got tested a lot of times for learning disabilities. It gets really, really discouraging when you’re the last one to finish a test. Now, I attribute it to my creativity. My fight my whole life has been focusing my attention,” Tatum said.

“Well, you’re going to be an inspiration to a lot of people.”

Bear tells him to chew through the ribs of the rattlesnake as they both eat it. “It was a lot bonier than I thought it would be be. I’m going to wash it down with water,” Tatum says.

“That was a big snake. There’s a lot more of it,” is Bear’s response. Channing Tatum doesn’t look too enthusiastic about having seconds, though.

After more commercials, Bear points out storm clouds and tells Tatum they need to change plans about where they were going to camp and instead camp on a little ledge below. Tatum gets lowered down first. “This is basically a straight, sheer drop. If you go over that, this is it.”

“Yeah, let’s not roll out of bed,” Bear says.

“I’m gonna leash myself to Bear so if I roll down the cliff, he’s going with me,” Tatum says to the camera.

They put their feet in their backpacks. “Now, we have improvised sleeping bags. This is pretty nice. Just don’t roll over,” Bear says.

Bear snores and makes t difficult for Tatum to get any sleep. “It was pretty interesting, sleeping on a cliff with Bear Grylls. Now, I can say I did that. I really didn’t get any sleep,” Tatum admits.

Bear tells Channing Tatum “You are committed. We’re going to tandem rappel together. Have you ever rappelled?”

“Only once,” Tatum answers him. Then, the show went to another commercial break.

When Running Wild With Bear Grylls returned from break, Bear and Channing rappel down the cliff. “Lean back put your weight into it,” Grylls says.

“Hanging on the face of this ginormous slab of cliff, I felt ‘This is really crazy.'” Tatum says to the camera.

“Looks like we’re about half-way I reckon,” Bear tells Tatum. “This is the bit where we see if the rope reaches the bottom or not.’

“What if it doesn’t?” Tatum asks.

“That’s where we get creative,” Grylls answers him. Tatum tells the camera he has never done this kind of thing before.

“Bear just goes to the edge, and that’s, that’s it. One thing that’s really shocking is the small amount of explanation you get just before you put your life in peril,” Channing Tatum tells the camera.

“If you don’t have a photographic memory, I guess that’s it,” Channing continued. “You know when something sort of sounds like it might be a good idea, and then it’s a bad idea? That’s right now,” Tatum admits to the camera. Then, Running Wild With Bear Grylls went to another commercial break.

“Basically, the rope ran out,” Bear says. They make the rope the have reach a ledge. “It reaches — but just,” Grylls says.

“Do you have another pair of underwear down there?” Tatum yells down to Bear.

“He has to commit to that pendulum and release himself down,” Bear says They still have 80 feet more to go. Bear has to break out his Emergency Rope. He says that he usually did not like to do it, but the rope that they had was, by then, pretty beaten up, so Bear got out his Emergency Rope from his backpack.

“Now, you’re going to earn your Commando Badge,” Bear tells him. “You will rappel going face downward.”

“It’s a long way down. I’m trying to tie a knot I’ve never tied before. He actually had me put this figure 8 thingie into the rope. I was thinking ‘This is a terrible idea.’ If you start slipping, it’ll be a skating rink all the way to the bottom,” Channing Tatum says.

When Tatum tries it out, though, he says “This is actually awesome.”

“He’s a veritable Stallone,” Bear says. “You’re toughening up. You were already tough, but you’re getting tougher. Now, we just have to make it to our extraction point.” Bear gives off the smoke signal the helicopter pilot is looking for. They take off, with both off them hanging from ropes, dangling from the helicopter.

“What I like about Channing is, yes, he’s talented, but he’s also a nice guy and family man,” Bear Grylls says at the end of the episode.

Next week, Bear will take Tom Arnold out on an adventure of his lifetime. The preview at the end of this episode looks like it should be pretty cool. Tom Arnold may not be as physically fit as someone like Channing Tatum or Zac Efron or to a somewhat lesser extent, Ben Stiller, all who have gone before him but, he has heart and just might even surprise himself by what he can accomplish.

This episode of Running Wild With Bear Grylls with Channing Tatum was pretty awesome. Bear Grylls pushes the people he takes out with him on these shows to the extreme, but he knows their limits — to an extent, anyway. He knew that he was going out with celebrities as he was filming this series, people who might be physically fit in some cases, but who did not necessarily have the sorts of adventure and survivalist experiences that he has had. Yet, the celebrities, thus far, including Channing Tatum, have dug deep into themselves at times and have demonstrated that the only limits upon themselves are the ones which they put on themselves.

What made Channing Tatum look this terrified on Ellen?

Hollywood actor Channing Tatum is a pretty tough guy.

This is him looking tough in a movie.

This is him looking tough near some stairs.

This is him looking tough with his armpits.

You get the picture. The star of various movies and lots of fantasies is really tough. One time, he even cut off the head of a rattlesnake and ate it on Running Wild with Bear Grylls. Why? We don’t know. Probably because it was tough.

But here’s the thing. Magic Mike star਌hanning, 34, has as an extremely un-tough fear. Not snakes (obviously). Not spiders.

Dolls. Channing Tatum is terrified of porcelain dolls.

The one person who you should never਌onfess your򠿪r to is talk show host Ellen DeGeneres (make a note of that, just in case she asks you). In a recent interview, Ellen brought out two seriously scary dolls to frighten him. And boy, did it work.

The tough father-of-one cowered on the couch as Ellen stroked his face with the dolls. And the video is hilarious.

To remind yourself of how tough Channing looks when he’s not getting face-stroked by a creepy doll, click through here. We did it for hours.

Channing Tatum & Jenna Dewan-Tatum Welcome a Baby!

Channing Tatum is now officially the Sexiest Dad Alive. The Magic Mike actor and wife Jenna Dewan-Tatum, 32, have welcomed their first child, WHO confirms.

Additional details, including the sex of the baby and the birthdate, have not been confirmed, although various media outlets are reporting that the couple welcomed a baby girl.

It is the first child for the couple, who wed in 2009 after meeting on the set of Step Up. They announced their pregnancy in December.

Throughout the pregnancy, the parents-to-be maintained their busy work schedules. "We're going to actually have the baby in London while I'm shooting, and then there will be no downtime whatsoever after that," Tatum told Ryan Seacrest in an interview about filming Jupiter Ascending in the UK.

Baby Tatum arrived in London on May 30.

In April, Dewan-Tatum told Glamour her husband has been a supportive-bordering-on-indulgent pregnancy partner.

“Channing has been great. He takes the route of no confrontation, just support, saying things like, ‘Do whatever you want! What do you want to eat? I’m going to leave it up to you,’” she said.

“I have never changed a diaper before, so I may need some help learning,” Tatum told WHO earlier this year. “I don’t have friends who have kids, so it’s going to be an interesting experience to learn how to change a diaper. I hope I don’t have any problems where the diaper falls off and the baby [poops] on the ground.”

Diaper duty aside, sources close to the couple insist the couple will make great parents.

"The baby will get top billing as far as priorities go," a source told US Weekly. "Channing is going to be the most adorable hands-on daddy ever and do whatever is necessary to make sure Jenna can balance it all."

5 Ways to Look Bigger Than You Really Are

Quick: What do Superman, Bart Starr, and every character Arnold Schwarzenegger played in the 1980s have in common?

They’re tall, sure. And yeah, they’re rugged manly men. But any casual moviegoer or sports fan knows: These guys are straight-up dominant.

Now, scientists have some evidence that those traits—height, masculinity, and “dominance”—are bound together. And Hollywood is backing them up.

In a new study published in the journal Perception, scientists at Scotland’s University of St Andrews altered photos of 25-year-old men to appear up to 3 inches taller, 10 years older, or “more masculine,” and asked study participants to give their opinions of the men. The kings of the hill: Tall, masculine guys who look like they’re about 35 years old.

And while that might seem reasonably obvious—the bigger the guy, the more likely he’s a physically dominant presence—it also reveals inherent human biases when it comes to electing leaders or even picking a mate.

“Understanding what influences dominance perceptions is important since a dominant appearance in male faces is associated with a variety of social outcomes, ranging from high rank attainment of cadets in the military to high levels of sexual activity in teenage boys,” Carlota Batres, who led the study, said in a press release.

It’s also a defining factor in picking Hollywood’s leading men—like, say, 36-year-old Chris Pratt, who stands a burly 6’1″ and just so happens to be one of the top movie stars these days. Two other guys who land close to the mark: Channing Tatum (6’1″, age 35) and Henry Cavill (6’1″, age 32), who play Magic Mike and Superman, respectively. And consider this: The Avengers who do most of the powerhouse hand-to-hand fighting—Captain America and Thor—are played by taller actors (Chris Evans is 6’0″ and Chris Hemsworth is 6’3″), while Iron Man (Robert Downey, Jr., who’s 5’9″) tends toward ranged combat. Hulk is, well, Hulk.

So as far as anecdotal evidence goes, Tinseltown is backing up the St. Andrews study.

Of course, height and and age aren’t exactly something guys can really control. The solution? Hit the gym, where targeting particular muscles (and burning stubborn fat) can help you sculpt your dimensions and achieve that dominant effect. (After all, Pratt was just a schlub on network comedy before he got absolutely ripped to play Star-Lord in Guardians in the Galaxy.)

Here are five key tips to get that “dominant” physique:

Trick 1: Boost Your Shoulders

Training your delts and traps will add much needed width across the top. Especially if you’re a taller guy, width is going to be a major standout feature to dictate whether you’re deemed “skinny” or “big”. Putting beef on your shoulders and neck are a good place to start.

Key Exercises:

Trick 2: Blast Your Upper Back

Chin ups, rows, and pulldowns need to become your new best friends. Put bench press and biceps curls on the back burner and focus on adding width to your upper body. A wide upper back will have much more impact on your presence than an overtrained chest will, also because all the back training will open up your shoulders and improve posture. You’ll look wider just because you’re standing taller and more open.

Key Exercises:

Trick 3: Cut Stomach Fat

Eating clean and tapering down at the waist is a great way to accentuate the V-taper and overall “X” shape of the body. Plus, the lean look will not only be limited to the waistline, rather the whole body, making your muscles look more defined and ultimately more prominent. Go low carb for a few weeks and notice the differences.

Trick 4: Train Your Legs

Getting a good set of wheels will not only encourage the entire body to grow too, but it will complete an “X” shape. Filling out a pair of jeans and growing a pair of glutes will aesthetically convey much more athleticism than someone who just has some muscle on the upper body alone. Healthy legs let the viewer know that “this guy must train”.

Key Exercises:

Trick 5: Dress Right

Avoid clothing that’s excessively baggy. Clothes that accentuate a smaller waistline will bring out width in shoulders. As far as colors go, lighter tones and horizontal stripes can go a long way to draw the eyes towards the body’s widest points. Fitted clothing works, but don’t go too fitted. Too tight will defeat the purpose and the illusion will be lost.

Summary: Skinny & Jacked

Getting big is a process, but applying these tricks of the trade will speed it up, and make that process slightly more enjoyable as you begin to see results. Of course, there’s no shortcut for the real thing, so keep working hard and earn the benefits for your effort.

Tommy Lee Jones and Jim Carrey - Batman Forever

Speaking on Norm Macdonald Live in October 2017, actor Jim Carrey confessed that his Batman Forever (1995) co-star Tommy Lee Jones disliked him so much that he actually admitted it straight to his face.

According to Carrey, the incident occurred right before they had their "biggest scene together," when Carrey unknowingly showed up to the same restaurant where Jones was dining. "The maitre said, 'Oh, I hear you're working with Tommy Lee Jones. He's over in the corner having dinner,'" Carrey recalled (via The Hollywood Reporter). "I went over and I said, 'Hey Tommy, how are you doing?' and the blood just drained from his face. And he got up shaking—he must have been in mid kill me fantasy or something like that. And he went to hug me and he said, 'I hate you. I really don't like you.' And I said, 'What's the problem?' and pulled up a chair, which probably wasn't smart. And he said, 'I cannot sanction your buffoonery.'"
